Choose wiro or spiral binding when the book must lie flat, perfect binding for a paperback look on textbooks and reports, case binding when it must last for years, and wrapper binding for tear-off notepads.
What each binding is
Wiro binding: a twin-loop metal wire runs through punched holes along the edge. The book lies flat and can fold back on itself. It looks neat and professional.
Spiral binding: a plastic or metal coil is threaded through punched holes. It also lies flat and folds back. It handles thicker books than most people expect.
Perfect binding: the pages are glued to a spine under a paper cover, like a paperback. It looks clean and prints a title on the spine, but it doesn’t lie flat.
Case binding (hard cover): pages are gathered in sections, sewn or glued, and fixed inside a hard board cover. It’s the most durable and the most premium.
Wrapper binding: a pad of sheets glued at the top or side with a backing board. It’s meant for tear-off pages.
